Honeybees, a tiny insect, are essential pollinators to most foods we eat every day in the US. They also face serious ecological challenges. Becoming a backyard beekeeper is a powerful way to make a difference on this sticky situation. Join our volunteer beekeeper, Charlie Schroeck and learn all of the aspects necessary to be a successful backyard beekeeper. This four week workshop will include background information on honey bees, equipment needed, proper maintenance and honey harvesting. Includes book "Starting Right with Bees" Pre-registration required Adults and children 16 and up.
